Initiatives and Goals

Therapeutic Art Party

The Therapeutic Art Party is our annual celebration of art’s capacity to transform, connect, and heal. Each year, we choose a new theme that guides the evening and sets the stage for immersive exploration. Past themes have drawn inspiration from our founder’s therapeutic technique, Re-encountering the Core™, as well as from the lived experience of being an artist.

At the heart of the event are interactive works—installations, performances, workshops, and art-making altars—that invite participants to step directly into the creative process. Rather than observing from the outside, attendees are welcomed as co-creators, sparking encounters that dissolve the boundaries between art, therapy, and community. Our mission is to support artists in honoring their healing capacity, to help healers access more creative approaches, and to cultivate a community sustained by and rooted in the healing arts.

The evening also features a silent art auction and gallery, which both sustain our mission and highlight artists deeply committed to transformation through their practice. Regenerative music, participatory performances, and immersive environments come together to create a collective journey that is both playful and profound.

More than a party, this initiative is an experiment in shared meaning-making—where art becomes a catalyst for healing and togetherness. Each year, the Therapeutic Art Party evolves in response to the changing needs of our community, while remaining rooted in our commitment to sharing art’s transformative potential.

Community Open Studio

A shared studio for the healing arts

We believe in an Economy of Sharing and The Art Resource will be a digital platform that will facilitate exchanges between individuals and organizations across various categories, including:

  • Offering/seeking an apprenticeship
  • Offering/seeking materials (wood, styrofoam, excess paint, etc)
  • Offering/seeking tools (wood shops, kilns, etc)
  • Offering/seeking spaces (markets, popups, galleries, studios, etc)
  • Offering/seeking skills (experience with a particular medium, etc)

Alongside other offerings, such as a peer critique and support sessions, shared calendar, and links to Atlanta organizations that promote a similar values of generosity, bartering, collaboration, and sustainability. Our goal is to create an inclusive and accessible platform that goes beyond traditional online marketplaces by fostering a culture within Atlanta’s arts community creating an entry point for people who may not feel comfortable posting on other online at larger marketplaces such as Craigslist or are new to the city. We vision The Art Resource to be a place where someone who is new to the city, or is new to art-marking, can go and find relevant information in one place.

Art Making Altars

Over the past few years, we’ve created altars, installations, and at times, just made a space for art. We are committed to continuing the collection of art making supplies and locating partners to create spaces to make art at various events, such as town halls, underground events, protests, and community mutual aid events. These spaces allow individuals to process what they are going through – where art helps ground, elevate, articulate, and process dense experiences. Many times, the artwork created is representative of the individual’s experiences and desires. These art making spaces function as a place for people to step out when they are overstimulated, and serve as a place of connection and processing.
